ID: Group G - Forewing with longitudinal and oblique pale streaks, without scattered fuscous scales, <7mm, not falcate at apex; no subcostal streak; antennal scape not tufted; antenna entirely white or indistinctly ringed.
The antenna is very variable in this species and may be quite distinctly ringed - in which case the only good feature for distinguishing it from C.currucipennella is the absence of a long tuft on the antennal scape.
Male genitalia
Vinculum with saccus produced. Tegumen arched; gnathos median lobe ovoid. Sacculus rectangular: anteroventral margin very shallowly concave, almost straight; anterolateral angle produced; lateral margin deeply concave; posterolateral angle strongly produced; posterior margin shallowly concave. Valvula very small. No true transtilla; but a band of sclerotisation arises from the inner surface of the sacculus and extends medially posterior to the aedeagus, almost meeting its partner - this band appears to function as a transtilla. Juxta short, attached to a ring of sclerotisation which probably is an extremely short tunica. Vesica without annulus or sclerotised arc, contains a comb of cornuti which may be naturally partly extruded through the apex of the aedeagus. |
