Most similar to C.adjectella and C.trigeminella. The male genitalia are indistinguishable from those of C.adjectella.
Male genital key: Sacculus narrow, elongate ending in a lateral process with an anterior flap-like subapical tooth > 4 species with very similar genitalia.
Wingspan 9-10mm, antenna ringed to apex > C.badiipennella or C.adjectella which have identical male genitalia. These two can be distinguished on the distribution of dark-tipped scales on the forewing - widely distributed in C.badiipennella; absent or confined to the apex in C.adjectella. |
