ID: Group C - Plain; antenna fuscous in scape and basal 2-3 segments of flagellum, remainder white ringed fuscous; medial aspect of labial palp buff, medial aspect of hindtibia greyish-buff.
If all these features can be ascertained sufficiently confidently to exclude C.potentillae (see key) then the insect should be female C.ahenella.
In the male only the scape is dark fuscous and these will need genital dissection to distinguish from other species in Group C.

Male genital key: Sacculus with a convex anterolateral margin, without a distinct anterolateral angle or projection and ending bluntly; valvula projects only a little beyond apex of sacculus.
C.potentillae, C.ahenella and C.binderella have very similar genitalia. C.binderella is best distinguished by its ferruginous forewing, (the other two species being shining fuscous), but it also has a more pointed saccular apex. MBGBI3 comments that the male genitalia of C.potentillae and C.ahenella may be separable on details of the apex of the sacculus and cornuti, but doesn't offer any description of the distinguishing features.

Female genital key: Ductus bursae with distinct spiculation extending from antrum for ~⅓ length of ductus; signum very large (spike >½ length of corpus bursae); antrum narrows from ostium to ductus bursae.
