Most similar to C.milvipennis and C.alnifoliae in both of which the antennal rings fade in the apical ¼. Also similar to C.badiipennella which averages smaller.
Male genital key: Sacculus narrow, elongate ending in a notched lateral projection; aedeagus simple.
Similar to C.milvipennis, adjectella, badiipennella and alnifoliae but the subapical flap-like tooth is more apical in C.limosipennella giving the apex a notched appearance.
